"Stir of Echoes" tells the The story of the Witzky family and their harrowing experience in trying to uncover a murder mystery that suddenly surfaces when father and son duo Tom and Jake Witzky begin to communicate with the dead. While the ghost attempts to uncover the truth about her murder, Tom and Jake set about solving the crime, though Tom struggles not to grow increasingly disturbed by the paranormal intrusions. But will all their sleuthing endanger their lives and that of Maggie Witzky?
The movie start out pretty good, there is a little boy in the tub talking to someone come to find out he is talking to a dead person. Kevin Bacons wife just finds out that she is pregnant he does not seems so excited. They go off to a neighbor hood party across the street after the tuck there son in bed (JUST A THOUGHT WHO IN THE WOLD WOULD LEAVE A LITTLE BOY HOME ALONE FOR SUCH A LONG TIME) The party is close to an end and lisa, Tom's sister in law hypnotizes him and he goes deeply under.
That night he is trying to sleep but he can't he keeps seeing things every time he closes his eye. He has started to see a dead girl that same girl that his son is seeing. His son tells him not to be afraid. Come to find out while he was under hypnosis Lisa said to open the door. Jake's ghost friend is Samantha and she told jake to have Debbie baby sit . They are going to a football game and Debbie is babysitting, On the way there Tom is freaking out, he takes off running only to get home to an empty house Debbie the baby sitter had taken jake to the train station At a neighborhood block party Tom starts to ask people about Samantha, his friends telling him you mean the retard.
Then he has a dream that his friend tells him that he has to kill him then he walks down the street to his friends house in his dream and the boy has blood all over his face. The next day everything happens just like the dream except his friend is not at his house, he walks down to his friend house just like he would have in the dream then he hears a gone shot the neighbor boy has shot himself.
Out for a walk with his mom by a cemetery jake runs in because he her the music a police officer follows them walking up to her and says her son has the ex-ray eyes.
Tom goes to his sister in law to have her reverse the hypnotic trans. But she can't something is wrong and all tom see is the word DIG.
So he goes home and starts to DIG up the hole backyard. Maggie comes home and freaks out about all the DIGGING then she get a fax that her grandmother is going into the hospital then a phone call that she has died. (the weird thing was that Tom new before the phone call that she was going to die) Maggie and Jake go to the funeral, and Tom keeps on Digging. What is he hoping to find? Will they be able to help Samantha, can they put her sole to rest or will it tear there family apart or worse yet are they the next to die.
Zachary David Cope plays Jake Witzky, Tom Witzky's gifted son that can see and talk to dead people.
Kevin Bacon plays Tom Witzky, your typical blue collared man whose middle class life is about to be turned upside down.
Kathryn Erbe plays Maggie Witzky, Tom Witzky's pregnant wife.
Illeana Douglas plays Lisa, Tom Witzky's sister-in-law who hypnotizes Tom and sends him into a trance whereby Tom's life will never be the same.
Jennifer Morrison plays Samantha Kozac, previous homicide victim turned ghost who befriends Tom's son, Jake.
Liza Weil plays Debbie Kozac, distraught sister of Samantha Kozac, and current babysitter for Jake Witzky.
